Stable Moments™ focuses on each child’s individual needs to assist in healing their developmental childhood trauma. One child is placed with one mentor and one horse, for a consistent week-to-week schedule. Our intake assessment helps determine which challenges need to be addressed during each session. We provide a safe environment for children to experience stable moments in an unsettled world.
Join the Program by becoming a Stable Moments mentor.
Becoming a Stable Moments mentor means you are a part of a bigger purpose. You will provide a stable container for a foster/adopted child who has experienced early childhood developmental trauma or family disruption. Foster/adopted children often struggle with creating healthy attachments which can impact their ability to adapt to change, navigate peer relationships and social environments, achieve academic milestones and regulate their emotional and behavioral responses. Research has suggested that one of the most effective interventions for children surviving with trauma is a long-lasting, consistent relationship and reliable connection. Our mentors facilitate these relationships.
Without the support of the community, Stable Moments could not serve the children and families we do today. With a consistent need and a rapidly growing program, your support could mean a life-changing relationship for a child.
