Hi, my name is Pixie Jarvis. I live in south-central KY (right outside of Bowling Green) in Alvaton, KY. I became a PATH certified therapeutic riding instructor in 2014. My journey started while volunteering at a PATH accredited facility, beginning in 2012, and then moving into learning and becoming an instructor. I loved my years there with our students, horses, volunteers, and staff, but a deep part of me wanted to change my focus from riding skills to the emotional and behavioral skills our horses teach us. I decided to leave the center to build a program on my farm. I am also a member of Natural Lifemanship and have completed their fundamentals training. I am working towards their trauma-informed equine professional certification, as well.

In 2018 I officially founded a 501c3 non-profit, "Outside In Equine Assisted Activities." The name comes from the saying, "There's something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a human." My husband bought me a sign to hang in our barn years ago with a version of that quote.

In the past, I volunteered for 8 years with an organization as a sponsor (similar to mentors) facilitating a support group for at-risk teens. During my years with them, I often thought I'd love to do something similar including horses. I'm excited to start a Stable Moments program in January 2021.
